Connecting bamboo is one of the most challenging and fun part of building with bamboo.  There are various ways to connect two pieces of bamboo, but which one to use and why?
Learn about various bamboo connection techniques including:
  • Making and using bamboo pins
  • Different lashing knots and techniques using natural rope
  • Bolting
  • Clamping
  • Fish mouth jointery
Get hands-on making each type of connection and refine your skills over 2 days. This course is suitable for anyone who knows dig deeper into building with bamboo and get hands-on. No specific skills are required to attend this course.

NOTE: This course does not include the overview on bamboo construction or bamboo species. For this see ‘Bamboo for beginners’ course.

Munir Vahanvati
Munir is a designer with a passion for sustainability, good design and the environment. 

He has been designing and building with bamboo for more than 13 years and has taught extensively in Australia and overseas. 

He has presented presented at various international conferences and is currently Vice President of the Bamboo Society of Australia and World Bamboo Ambassador for World Bamboo Organisation.

  • We need minimum 10 participants for the workshop to progress. If required number is not achieved Giant Grass reserves the right to cancel workshop.
  • If we cancel the workshop you will be entitled to a 100% refund, or you may choose to transfer to another date, subject to availability.
  • If you decide to withdraw 7 or more days prior to the workshop date Giant Grass will retain a 10% administration fee.
  • If you decide to withdraw less than 7 days prior to the workshop date Giant Grass will retain 100% of your workshop fee.
