Pedestrian Bridge

This pedestrian bridge was built at Bamboosprings Nursery in Pemberton, Western Australia as part of the BSA workshops held in April 2011.

The bridge is approximately 1.2m wide and 4.6m long spanning an existing creek. The structure is made out of two trusses forming the side walls which are sloping out to provide weather protection. The bridge also has an corrugated metal roof to provide protection from rain and sun to the bamboo structure. The deck of the bridge is slightly curved keeping it in compression and load is transferred to the footings via the diagonal poles.

The structure was finished in two days during the workshop with Kevin later adding roofing sheets and deck.
