We are really excited to be partnering with Jen Rae and Arts House for this years Refuge program.

Raft is a series of one-day workshops in which people work together using materials from our natural and built environments to build floatable structures. In the workshop, people will pool their effort to build and assemble bamboo rafts. Each workshop will begin with an induction that teaches basic building skills using bamboo, followed by construction and assembly tasks. The co-built rafts will form Flotilla, an immersive installation for audiences to experience and to reflect upon the imminent climate-related migration crisis. Catered lunch provided.

This workshop is part of Refuge 2019: Displacement – a five-year project where art meets climate emergency.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and require use of some hand tools, you can come for one day or more.
